Hydraulic Elevator
Hydraulic elevators are a type of elevator system that uses hydraulic technology to move the elevator car between floors. These elevators are commonly used in low to mid-rise buildings where the vertical transportation requirements do not justify the use of more complex and expensive traction elevator systems.
Hydraulic elevators operate based on the principle of fluid dynamics. A hydraulic pump, typically located in a machine room or closet adjacent to the elevator shaft, forces hydraulic fluid into a cylinder. As the fluid enters the cylinder, it pushes a piston upward, lifting the elevator car.
